The first forged split-bolt connector for use on overhead power distribution systems was made and supplied by BURNDY®. We also had the first compression tap connector for overhead. BURNDY® was the first manufacturer to have a spacer damper for bundled transmission lines operating over 500kV. Substation
BURNDY® provides an integrated connector solution for substation projects from the highest point of the bus structure to the lowest point of the grounding network. With our extensive history of supplying product to meet the changing needs of substations over the years we have developed unique engineering capabilities to solve the most demanding applications. This translates into a wide range of products either bolted or welded for all voltages up to 1,100 kV. Utilizing our in-house design engineers, we can also handle development of connectors needed for the most demanding configurations.
We offer a complete range of products for substations including bolted fittings, welded fittings, EHV fittings, grounding and various other utility connectors.

Transmission
BURNDY® provides inventive solutions for connector transmission applications. There are a wide range of application requirements within the Transmission market. We provide a wide range of products suitable for ACSR, ACSS and ACCC® (Composite Core Conductors). Our engineering design group has the experience with conventional compression connectors along with implosive technology for our new IMPLO® series of products. In addition to our compression dead ends, splices, loop splices, terminals and repair sleeves, BURNDY® also has expertise in the area of vibration control with our Stockbridge and Spacer Damper Products. All of these products are backed up by our engineering services along with field training in various areas of installation. Drawing from our experience building and manufacturing transmission connectors for the original grid, we are leading the way for 21st-century transmission lines. In fact, our ACSS and ACCC® connectors already meet the proposed requirements of the future ANSI high-temperature standard.
Our Motion Control products have been used on bundle conductors since the 1960s. This experience enables us to provide Spacer Damper products along with placement recommendations for optimum performance. Stockbridge Dampers are designed to enhance conductor life by lessening potential vibration-induced fatigue.
