Our mechanical grounding connections offer range taking flexibility, require no special tooling and are easily installed. The BURNDYWeld® exothermic grounding line provides a solid copper irreversible bond that will not loosen or corrode at the weld. One of the only manufacturers able to offer all three major methods of grounding, we can supply what you need to meet your specific application requirements.

Mechanical

With more than 85 years of technological innovation, BURNDY® mechanical grounding connectors are some of the most widely used and highly respected lines in the industry. All BURNDY® mechanical grounding connectors have been designed for easy installation and outstanding durability. Our mechanical grounding connectors offer range taking capabilities, require no special tooling and provide a removable connection making them a perfect choice for both temporary and permanent installation applications. We have many offerings for mechanical grounding connectors that are UL Listed and approved for Direct Burial.

Compression (HYGROUND®)

HYGROUND® irreversible compression grounding systems meets the stringent safety and performance requirements of UL and IEEE. All connectors employ well proven design principles and technology that have been in existence for over 60 years. HYGROUND® connectors offer range taking capabilities, are safe to install quickly and easily to create a reliable permanent connection.

As part of the BURNDY® Engineered System, HYGROUND® is color-coded to ensure correct tool and die selection which provides a superior, inspectable connection. All product has passed rigorous testing in the BURNDY® UL facilities to ensure all product exceed standards. Most items are also rated for Direct Burial, CSA and NEC requirements.

Exothermic (BURNDYWeld®)

BURNDYWeld® exothermic grounding provides a solid copper irreversible bond that will not loosen or corrode at the weld. The exothermic process is a simple, efficient method creating a high temperature reaction of powdered copper oxide and aluminum, this reaction takes place in a graphite mold. Molds will last for 50 or more welds when cared for properly. BURNDYWeld® is very field-friendly since it is light, portable and requires no outside power.
